Wellbeing is the development of the capabilities necessary to thrive, contribute and respond positively to challenges and opportunities of life and it is at the centre of all that we do at Nearnung Primary School.
Our mission is to actively engage with the school community to plan for and deliver evidence-based practices that maximise student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
We provide a safe, engaging and inclusive environment that supports and promotes the behavioural, physical, emotional and cognitive wellbeing of all our students.
Our community has high expectations for all of our learners and we focus on the whole child. We offer opportunities for our learners to develop independence, self-confidence, resilience, self-belief and develop mindsets that help them define who they are. We know that physically and emotionally healthy students who have strong connections with their community are happy, able to deal positively with life’s challenges and are less likely to take unhealthy risks.
We have developed a culture of community with very strong connections and we value our partnerships with parents, guardians and caregivers ensuring a holistic approach to learning.
The following are used to support our students to achieve success in a safe, inclusive and connected school environment:
